Direct Action Project
The Direct Action Project works with young people and parents across Islington to increase understanding around mental health, break-down stigma and to let people know where free and low cost support is available in Islington.
What do we do?
We run workshops exploring a range of mental health topics and creative programmes such as spoken word, film and mural making. We run training sessions for staff working with parents and young people. We can design workshops and programmes to meet the needs of your organisation.
Who do we work with?
Young people (aged 11-24 years) and the parents of young children across Islington. We work directly with organisations where young people and parents meet, such as schools, youth clubs and children’s centres.
For more information please contact the Project Manager Emma Charlton on email@example.com or 020 7837 6082.
In March 2018 we partnered with the Galbur Foundation and a British Somali artist to deliver an art programme. Twenty young people explored emotions and mental health through painting and mixed media techniques. The Galbur Foundation made a short film about what we did - watch it below.
